ScanHEALTH Project Overview
ScanHEALTH is a collaborative project that leverages the unique ScanEat technology to develop new market services. The project's primary goal is to facilitate a safer and more informed food shopping experience for persons with special dietary needs, while simultaneously increasing the international competitiveness of participating Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
Project Aims and Objectives
The overall objective of ScanHEALTH is to support project partners in overcoming technical and operational barriers to diversification. This will increase their international competitiveness and enable the successful marketing of new services in new markets.
Specific objectives include:
• Enhance the ScanEat technology to enable scalability, membership subscriptions, and new revenue streams.
• Develop and pilot-test new services: ScanEat Membership, ScanEat Certified, and ScanEat Integration.
• Support the international expansion of partner companies into new European markets through diversified business models.
Core Technology
The project is built upon the proven ScanEat mobile application, distinguished by three key features:
1. Advanced Diagnostics: Utilizes sophisticated algorithms to analyze product ingredients and nutrients, providing users with instant, personalized suitability assessments.
2. Efficient Implementation: Employs AI-powered text recognition, allowing for the rapid and simple registration of new products from user-submitted photos, ensuring the database remains current.
3. User-Centric Design: Offers an intuitive interface where a simple barcode scan provides immediate, clear information, eliminating the need to read fine-print labels.
Activities and Expected Results
The project is structured around three key activities: (A1) Service Development, (A2) Service Pilot Testing, and (A3) Project Management and Market Promotion.
These activities will yield the following primary results:
